Dr. Nicole Cutts led a webinar focused on:

  • The effects of stress and trauma on Community Violence Intervention practitioners and all members of their ecosystems. (This includes how to recognize the signs and symptoms of secondary trauma.)
  • Cognitive and Somatic Tools to relieve stress
  • Combatting Compassion Fatigue
  • The Importance of Self-Care and How to Achieve it Realistically
  • Increasing Resilience

Participants also received resources to aid them on the continuation of their learning post training.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn techniques & gain tools to reduce stress, compassion fatigue, physical fatigue & burnout.
  • Increased understanding of the neurobiological and emotional mechanisms of stress & trauma (both primary and secondary)
  • Increased psychological, physical & emotional resilience
  • Participants will leave webinar with and increased understanding of self-care and a realistic plan to implement self-care
  • Leave webinar feeling more centered, balanced and focused with a renewed sense of vigor and purpose

Dr. Nicole Cutts is a master facilitator, speaker, organizational consultant, coach, and licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in well-being, diversity, and cultural competence. She earned her doctorate at the California School of Professional Psychology, LA, where her emphasis of study was Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology. She also has B.S. in Psychology from Howard University.

Her writings on Cultural Competence, Diversity, Organizational Wellness, and Success appear on several business websites and in academic journals. Dr. Cutts was the featured expert on the website of the Walter Kaitz Foundation, an organization that promotes diversity in the media industry.

She has been a contributing writer for Identity Television, The Next Level, and The Diversity Channel, where she was also the Senior Features Editor.

Dr. Cutts is an expert commentator on both television and radio and appears frequently on CBS affiliate: WUSA Channel 9 News, ABC affiliate: WJLA Channel 7 News and WHUR 96.3 FM. She is also a former executive producer and radio show host of Inside Out LGBTQ Radio on WPFW 89.3 FM.

She is a former faculty member in the Women’s Studies’ Department at The University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Dr. Cutts is the CEO of Cutts Consulting, LLC, a firm that delivers organizational and professional development training and coaching with a focus on well-being, and the founder of Vision Quest Retreats through which she delivers therapy and coaching services to women. Dr. Cutts is also the author of The Adventures of Isabelle series: a series of fictional books aimed at empowering women and girls to embark on their own heroine’s quest!
