Anne Marks is a nationally recognized violence prevention consultant and locally obscure trivia host. She is the former Executive Director of Youth ALIVE!, Oakland's nationally recognized anchor community organization providing violence prevention, intervention and healing services to community members directly impacted by violence and incarceration. She is also a founder and National Advisor for the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention (The HAVI) which supports communities implementing the model of hospital-based violence intervention that Youth ALIVE! originated. Before Youth ALIVE!, Anne administered the City of Oakland’s prison reentry services and then oversaw the City’s investment in violence prevention strategies. She has also done communications for the U.S. State Department, a presidential campaign, and state and local initiatives. She has been invited by the White House to speak on Community Violence Intervention and received commendation from the cities of Oakland and Los Angeles for her work to help communities prevent violence. She received her B.A. from UC Berkeley and Master of Public Policy from Harvard.
